Maruti Suzuki is the largest carmaker in India had seen a downfall in their sales just like all the automakers due to the pandemic. The carmakers now reported healthy growth in their sales and expect to see significant sales numbers. Maruti Suzuki sold 1,47,912 units with 22,643 units of Swift sold making it the most sold car in India.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift was an all-time favorite to the Indian market ever since its launch in 2005. The 3rd generation Swift was launched in 2018 in India. It has a premium look for both exterior and interior and best in class mileage. The 2020 swift is offered only in petrol engines and no diesel engine will be offered due to BS6.

The Maruti Suzuki 3th gen Swift gets latest features in the exterior such as projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. On the inside, it has got the all-black shade that is lighter than the one in its predecessor. The third-gen model also gets increased usage of chrome and piano black inserts. The additional space, especially at the rear, has finally addressed the Swift’s limited legroom problem as well. A new flat-bottom steering wheel, sporty twin-pod instrument cluster and a new automatic climate control console has improved the cabin quality.

The space utilization is very practical with plenty of seating space and storage space. The rear seat has a 1265mm of shoulder room which can seat three. The knee room is 825mm and the under thigh support is 469mm that is comfortable. The boot space is 268 liter which is good for a hatchback but also can be extended by folding down the seat to 60:40.

The BS6 version of the Swift with only one engine option that is the 1.2-liter petrol engine. However, Maruti offers it in both manual and AMT options. The 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 81 bhp and 113Nm torque. Being a petrol engine the Swift manages to return a combined mileage of 21.21kmpl.

The prices are very competitive  which is one of the reasons for attracting the buyers. The base variant LXI is priced at ₹5.18 Lakh ex-showroom. It gets the 5-speed manual transmission with two front air bags, ABS and a normal air conditioner.

VXI on the other hand is the top selling variant of the model. It is priced at ₹6.18 Lakh, the extra ₹1 Lakh will buy features such as multi-function steering wheel, power windows for all four windows, and power adjustable rear view mirror.

The VXI AMT has the 5-speed AMT mated with the engine and is priced at 6.66 Lakh, rest of the features are the same as the VXI.

ZXI is priced at ₹6.78 Lakh and the ZXI AMT at ₹7.24 Lakh. It has added features like fog lights, alloy wheels and automatic climate control AC.

ZXI plus is the top variant of the Swift, priced at ₹7.58 lakh, and the ZXI plus AMT at ₹8.02 lakh has all the features. The 7-inch touch screen and an engine start-stop button. All the prices above are ex-showroom prices click here to know the latest on-road price in your city.
